Areas of Focus
Parenting & Relationships
Navigating life's ups and downs can be overwhelming. Our past and present experiences and the fast pace of day- to-day life can leave us in a constant state of worry, or increasingly negative emotions. When left unchecked, these emotions can intensify and begin to impact your physical health, sleep, energy level, personal relationships and possibly prevent you from living your best life. Through the collaborative therapeutic process, I support my clients to gain deeper insights into their emotions, develop practices that help them sustain a balanced state of mind and help them find calm amidst life’s challenges.
Adolescent & Youth Mental Health
Adolescence into young adulthood is a period of significant change and emotional/neurological development. Through this stage of life, young people face various challenges such as academic stress, peer pressure, navigating peer and family relationships, identity exploration and moving toward independence. Therapy can offer the young person a safe space to express their feelings and concerns without judgement so that they can build resilience, and develop the tools they need to navigate life's challenges and develop into emotionally healthy adults.
Wellbeing
Parenting is a challenging and deeply rewarding journey, filled with moments of joy, love, and ongoing growth. As a parent myself, I know that parenting also comes with its share of stress and uncertainty. I firmly believe that parents have the motivation and are best positioned to support their children/youths mental health and wellbeing (regardless of age). Using principles of emotion focused family therapy I work alongside caregivers to help them to gain the skills necessary to attune to their child’s emotional needs and break free from negative patterns to cultivate a nurturing environment of trust and connection.
I provide virtual therapy services tailored to those aged 12 and up residing in Ontario. Virtual therapy is convenient, eliminates travel time and provides you with the opportunity to connect from the comfort of your own home. If you have questions about virtual therapy and if it will be a good fit for you feel free to schedule a free 15 minute consultation.
