The Process
Beginning therapy and finding the right therapist can be a daunting endeavor. There are many factors to consider and each therapist has a unique skill set and approach. When clients seek out my support, I want them to know what to expect and will do my best to answer their questions along the way. Here is some of what to expect as you navigate this process.
Step 1 - Finding the fit
It all begins with the search. Maybe you have gotten names from friends, relatives, your employer, your doctor, or maybe you are browsing reputable sites like Psychology Today. As you search you will want to look at the therapists credentials, their level of experience, and areas of focus. Once you have a feel for a few different folks, consider taking the next step and book a free consultation to learn more about them.
Step 2 - Book the Consultation
The consultation is a free, no obligation, opportunity for you to get a deeper sense of if the therapist is a good match for you. I encourage folks to speak with a few different therapists to truly get a feel for who they are and how they practice.
When you book a free consultation with me we will discuss what brings you to therapy and the goals you are looking to achieve. I will also share a bit about myself, my approach and the therapy process in general. I will also do my best to answer any questions you have.
Step 3 - Get Started
Once you have found a therapist who is right for you, you can book your first session. As I said, each therapist has their own process and style. If you have chosen to work with me I will send you the intake package at the time of booking. This will include the intake form and important information about virtual therapy, consent and confidentiality. We will take some time in our first session to review the intake package and confidentiality agreements so that I can deeply understand your goals and build a plan to move forward.
Service & Fees
Initial 15 Minute Consultation - Free
Individual Session - 160.00 (tax exempt)
Following the consultation, if there is mutual agreement we can book the first session. Individual sessions are 50 minutes in length.
